Navigate the CntX Workspace

Learn how the sidebar, workspace switcher, and Home recommendations fit together so you can move from setup to daily editorial work without getting lost.

Overview

CntX organizes work in layers: your account, a company (billing and permissions), and one or more workspaces (brands or clients). Once inside a workspace, almost everything happens through the left sidebar and the Home dashboard, which surfaces your Next recommended step based on setup progress.

This guide maps the product navigation so you know where to configure context, plan content, execute campaigns, and connect integrations—without treating CntX as a single blank chat window.

When to use

  • You just finished Create Your CntX Account and Company and landed on an unfamiliar screen.
  • You switch between multiple brands or client workspaces and need a refresher on what lives where.
  • You are onboarding teammates who ask “where do I find briefs, strategy, or integrations?”
  • You completed setup and want a mental model before diving into Context Discovery or calendar generation.

Before you start

  • Sign in and confirm you see the sidebar on the left (expand it if collapsed).
  • Note which Workspace is active—name appears near the top of the sidebar under Workspace.
  • If you manage an agency portfolio, check whether Accounts appears at the top of the sidebar for switching between your agency and delegated client companies.

Steps

1. Start from Home

Open Home (first item in the sidebar). This is your control tower:

  • Next recommended step — Context validation, strategy, calendar generation, or post-onboarding actions (connect CMS, review audit findings, enable social listening).
  • Onboarding journey — Collapsible checklist tracking Context Discovery, brand platform, strategy, and first content milestones.
  • Quick paths into the wizard or review screens tied to your current progress.

Return to Home whenever you are unsure what to do next; the recommended step adapts as records are created.

2. Use the workspace switcher

Click Workspace in the sidebar to:

  • Switch between workspaces under your company (`/workspace/{id}`).
  • Create one when you add a new brand or client editorial environment.
  • Edit workspace for name, dedicated email, or workspace-specific settings.

Calendar, strategy, content library, and most context data are workspace-scoped. Billing and user administration sit at company level under Settings.

3. Plan and execute content (core sidebar)

Sidebar sectionWhat you do here
CalendarEditorial plan by date; open items to view or edit briefs.
ActionsEditorial action queue from signals and recommendations.
Content → AuditSite content audit and optimization findings.
Content → ManageContent library, statuses, and production items.
StrategyStrategies, Pillars, Channels, Content Types for the active planning period.
CampaignsMulti-workspace or time-bound initiatives with shared strategy and plans.

Typical flow: StrategyCalendar → brief review → Content → Manage for drafting and approval.

4. Configure who you are (Context)

Open Context in the lower sidebar:

  • Company — Description, industry, positioning (company-level; hidden for some VIEWER roles).
  • Products — Offers, value props, keywords.
  • ICPs and Personas — Audience definitions used in briefs.
  • Competitors — Competitive set for positioning.
  • Brand Platform and Style Guide — Messaging and visual/writing rules.

Context Discovery on Home writes into these same sections; manual edits here persist after the wizard finishes.

5. Listen and optimize (Insights)

Open Insights for signal-driven planning:

  • Reactions — Engage inbox linking social reactions to editorial actions.
  • Voice of the Field — Sales and field feedback as content inputs.
  • Media Watch — Monitored publications and mentions.
  • Social Listening — Qualified LinkedIn and Reddit signals (not a generic “all networks” feed).

Insights feed back into strategy optimizations, automatic briefs, and Actions—closing the loop described in What Is CntX and How Does It Work?.

6. Administer the company (Settings)

Open Settings for operational controls:

  • Teams and Users — Invitations, roles, contributors.
  • Billing — Plan, trial, seats (company-level; may be hidden in delegated client context).
  • Integrations — WordPress, Webflow, Google Search Console, and other connectors.
  • Crawl Jobs and Vector Store — Technical visibility into site crawl and indexed source material.

Use Settings → Integrations when Home suggests Connect your CMS or Connect Google Search Console.

7. Use the top bar

The header complements the sidebar:

  • Help link to the Help Center (`help.cntx.app`).
  • Profile menu — User profile, theme toggle, logout.
  • Trial upgrade CTA when your subscription is in trial.

Expected result

  • You can move confidently from HomeContextStrategyCalendarContent without searching settings for core editorial tasks.
  • You know when to switch Workspace versus changing Company-level Settings.
  • You recognize Home as the default orientation point, not an empty dashboard.

Tips / common issues

  • Sidebar collapsed — Hover or click the expand control; submenu popouts (Strategy, Context, Content, Insights, Settings) still work when collapsed.
  • Missing Billing or Company — Delegated or viewer contexts hide some items by design; ask your company admin.
  • Agency mode — Use Accounts to jump between client companies; each has its own workspaces and billing relationship.
  • Ctrl/Cmd+click — Internal links support opening routes in a new browser tab for parallel review (calendar + brief editor).
  • Do not skip Home — Even experienced users benefit from Next recommended step after strategy changes or new signal sources.

Next step

If you manage more than one brand, Create and Switch Workspaces. Otherwise continue with Complete Context Discovery or follow the Next recommended step card on Home.
