Use LinkedIn and Reddit Social Listening
Configure network-specific watches on LinkedIn and Reddit—CntX does not offer generic "all social" monitoring.
Overview
Social Listening in CntX is deliberately scoped to LinkedIn and Reddit—the networks where B2B conversation, professional threads, and community pain points are most actionable for editorial teams. It is not a universal social inbox for every platform.
You add sources per network:
- LinkedIn — company pages, profiles, post search by keyword/hashtag/phrase, and related watch types supported in the UI.
- Reddit — subreddits, communities, or keyword/topic watches where Reddit’s structure allows.
Crawls fetch posts, classify them against workspace context (pillars, products, ICPs, personas from Marketing backend), and score relevance and reaction potential. The Feed tab shows qualified posts with engagement hints. High-scoring items can create Reaction suggestions alongside Media Watch and Voice of Field.
Social Listening also includes a LinkedIn audit run (separate tab) that analyzes your company’s LinkedIn post history against pillars and personas—useful for cadence and format gaps, distinct from the daily feed watches.
When to use
Set up social listening when you:
- Monitor LinkedIn conversations about your category, competitors, or brand.
- Track Reddit communities where buyers ask buying questions candidly.
- Want reaction-style content (counter-posts, derivative articles, FAQ updates) tied to real threads.
- Need post-level scoring before burning calendar capacity on viral noise.
Do not use this module expecting Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok coverage—those are out of scope.
Before you start
- Active content strategy with pillars, products, ICPs, and personas—audit and crawl workers fetch this context from Marketing automatically.
- Admin access to add LinkedIn company URLs or Reddit communities relevant to your market.
- Compliance awareness: respect platform terms; prefer public pages and communities.
- Reactions owner identified for triage after crawls run.
Steps
- Open Insights → Social Listening.
- Go to Sources (or add-source panel) and choose network type:
– LinkedIn — add competitor company pages, your company page, keyword/post search, or profile watches as offered. – Reddit — add subreddit or keyword/community watches.
- Enable sources and save. Disable experimental watches until you validate signal quality.
- Trigger or wait for the scheduled crawl for each network (manual refresh where the UI allows).
- Open the Feed tab. Browse posts with classification badges, pillar/persona overlap, and reaction score previews.
- Expand Why this score? on high-interest rows—check for keyword-only penalties, stale tiers, or duplicate signals.
- Optional: open Audit tab within Social Listening to run a LinkedIn audit of your owned post history. Wait for terminal status (Succeeded/Partial), then review findings (topic trends, format patterns, pillar gaps, cadence warnings).
- For feed posts worth acting on, use Create reaction or manual promotion actions when available, or locate the auto-created item in Reactions.
- From audit findings cards, use Create brief or Create action when a pattern deserves calendar investment—not every chart spike needs a brief.
Expected result
- LinkedIn and Reddit sources list with enable/disable controls and last crawl indicators.
- Feed shows classified posts tied to strategy entities—not an unfiltered firehose.
- Reaction scores align with Media Watch semantics (reaction angle, strategic fit, actionability).
- Qualifying posts appear in Reactions with network labeling (e.g. LinkedIn · Reaction opportunity).
- LinkedIn audit dashboard summarizes historical post mix vs pillars/personas when a run completes.
Tips
- Start with one LinkedIn competitor page and one subreddit where your ICP actually posts—expand after reviewing false-positive rate.
- Post search watches work best with specific phrases, not single generic words.
- LinkedIn audit uses live Marketing context each run—update pillars before auditing after strategy changes.
- High engagement alone does not imply high reaction score; CntX weights strategic fit and actionability.
- Company-owned posts may be skipped for Reaction creation to avoid self-reaction loops—focus on market threads.
- Pair social signals with audit Top keywords before briefing to avoid duplicating SEO-targeted articles with reactive social posts on unrelated angles.
Next step
Add two sources (one LinkedIn, one Reddit), run crawls, and review Reactions for New social items. Promote one thread to a brief while timeliness holds, or run the LinkedIn audit if owned social cadence is the bigger gap.
