Manage Delegated Companies

Handle delegation requests, active mandates, and revocations when a Business client shares account management with your agency.

Overview

A delegated company is an existing Business client tenant that grants your agency administrative access through an explicit delegation mandate. Unlike owned agency accounts (created by you, max five), delegated clients:

  • Keep their own subscription and Stripe billing
  • Retain primary admin access and visibility
  • Authorize your agency to operate editorially as ADMIN
  • Prevent the agency from deleting the company record

Delegation status flows: PENDINGACCEPTED (or REJECTED / REVOKED).

When to use

  • A client sent a delegation request you must accept or decline.
  • You proposed management and wait for client approval.
  • You need to revoke access after a contract ends.
  • You troubleshoot why billing screens differ between agency and client contexts.

Before you start

  • Your company must hold an active Agency subscription.
  • Locate the client company on `/agency` or via the delegation banner.
  • Read mandate terms before accepting—both sides must checkbox-confirm.
  • Only one active delegation request per client at a time; revoke before sending a new request to another agency.

Steps

1. Review incoming delegation requests (agency side)

  1. Open `/agency`.
  2. Look for New delegation request banners or cards marked Pending.
  3. Open View request for details: client name, request date, mandate text.
  4. Read the delegation mandate summary.

2. Accept a delegation

  1. In the acceptance modal, review what management includes (users, workspaces, content, integrations).
  2. Check I accept the delegation mandate (required).
  3. Confirm Accept delegation.

Status becomes ACCEPTED. You can open the client company from the hub.

3. Decline or ignore

If you are not the intended agency, reject or ignore pending requests. Clients can revoke and search for another agency partner.

Stale pending requests should be resolved so clients are not blocked from engaging a different partner.

4. Operate inside a delegated client

  1. Click View on the accepted client card.
  2. Work in their workspaces like a client ADMIN:

– Context, strategy, calendar, campaigns – User invitations (coordinate with client policy) – Integrations scoped per workspace

  1. Do not attempt company deletion—this action is unavailable for delegated tenants.

Billing changes remain client-controlled in Settings → Billing.

5. Revoke delegation (agency side)

When the engagement ends:

  1. Open `/agency`.
  2. Select the delegated company card.
  3. Click Revoke and confirm.

The client keeps all data and subscription access; you lose management entry points.

6. Client-side revocation (reference)

Clients can revoke under Settings → Agency-delegated management without your action. If access disappears unexpectedly, check whether the client revoked the mandate.

After revocation, you may send a new proposal later if both parties agree.

Expected result

  • Delegated clients show ACCEPTED status with delegation date on both sides.
  • Agency users edit client workspaces without owning Stripe customers.
  • Revocation immediately stops agency admin access while preserving client data.
  • No delegated company is deleted through agency action.

Tips

  • Document internally which clients are Owned vs Delegated—billing responsibility differs completely.
  • Align on who invites client users; duplicate admins confuse audit trails.
  • Use workspace naming conventions per client brand even when you manage many tenants.
  • If delegation search fails, verify exact agency ID, registered company name, or manager email—search is exact-match only.
