Complete Workspace Setup Readiness
Reach the point where CntX can generate reliable strategies, calendars, and content—not just store empty records.
Overview
Setup readiness means your active workspace has enough structured context, strategy inputs, and optional integrations for CntX to produce useful briefs and generations. Home tracks this through the onboarding journey and Next recommended step cards.
Readiness is workspace-scoped: a second brand needs its own context and strategy even if your company already completed onboarding elsewhere.
When to use
- Home keeps suggesting setup tasks instead of calendar generation.
- Generated briefs feel generic or misaligned with your positioning.
- You created a new workspace and want a checklist before inviting the team.
- You finished Context Discovery but have not connected publishing or analytics yet.
Before you start
- Switch to the workspace you are preparing (not another brand under the same company).
- Block 30–60 minutes for context validation; integrations can follow in a second session.
- Gather your website URL, product list, brand deck, and any messaging docs (PDF/DOCX, ≤ 20 MB each).
- Confirm you have at least EDITOR access; viewers cannot complete most setup tasks.
Steps
1. Run or validate Context Discovery
- Open Home and start Context Discovery (or reopen the onboarding journey).
- Confirm company description, industry, and positioning.
- Validate Products, ICPs, Personas, and Competitors.
- Complete Brand Platform and Style Guide where available.
You can refine everything later under Context in the sidebar—Discovery is the fast path, not a one-time lock.
2. Attach source documents (recommended)
- Open Context sections or the attachments panel.
- Upload decks, messaging docs, or PDFs (supported: PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD, JSON).
- Wait for analysis to finish before heavy generation.
Source documents reduce hallucinated positioning in briefs.
3. Create a content strategy
- Open Strategy in the sidebar.
- Define objectives, communication pillars, channels, and content types.
- Set the planning horizon for your reference period.
Without strategy, calendar generation lacks guardrails.
4. Configure channels and integrations
- Open Strategy → Channels and enable realistic destinations.
- Open Settings → Integrations for this workspace:
– WordPress or Webflow if you publish long-form content. – Google Search Console and GA4 to close the measurement loop.
- Test each connection before marking setup complete.
Integrations are optional on day one but required before publish workflows.
5. Set workspace email and contributors
- Open Workspace → Edit workspace.
- Copy the inbound email address for Voice of the Field.
- Add email-only contributors for sales or field teams who will send insights.
This step is often skipped but unlocks signal-driven briefs later.
6. Invite teammates and lock roles
- Open Settings → Users (Business ADMIN).
- Invite editors and viewers with correct workspace assignments.
- Confirm contributor vs platform user distinctions if external collaborators participate.
7. Generate a first calendar period (validation)
- Return to Home—the recommended step should shift toward calendar generation.
- Open Calendar and generate the upcoming period.
- Review a sample brief for audience, angle, and product fit.
If briefs miss the mark, return to Context or Strategy rather than forcing content generation.
Expected result
- Home onboarding progress reflects completed milestones.
- Next recommended step moves from context to planning, then production or integrations.
- A trial calendar produces briefs aligned with your ICPs and pillars.
- Workspace email, contributors, and integrations are documented for the team.
Tips
- Treat readiness as a workspace checklist—duplicate it per brand on multi-workspace companies.
- Do not connect production WordPress first; use staging if available, then swap credentials.
- Crawl and audit jobs consume monthly quota—launch the first crawl after context is stable.
- VIEWER colleagues can review readiness on Home but need an EDITOR or admin to finish setup.
